Katja Hellkötter

Katja Hellkötter is the founder and 'master-mind' of SHANGHAI FLANEUR, has worked in Euro-Chinese cooperation for over a decade, gaining wide experience in multistakeholder and pluri-disciplinary settings e.g. as Chief Representative of the City of Hamburg in Shanghai, as Concept Advisor for the board of Goethe Institute, and as Environment Partnership Manager on behalf of the German Economic Ministry. A graduate from Bremen University of Applied Sciences with a degree in China Studies and International Management, she first came to China in 1994 as an exchange student at Sichuan University, Chengdu. Beyond Sichuan, Katja has seen more from China than the its new urbanity: Before she made Shanghai her home in 1999 she had also stayed for some month in Huhhot, Inner Mongolia, working for a renewable energy project in the grasslands.

Being a strong macro facilitator with a good eye for the big picture and new ideas, Katja initiated and created numerous partnership projects. For instance, she is the Editor of Europe China Cultural Compass (2011).

Katja is the founder of CONSTELLATIONS (Shanghai) Co. Ltd. offering ideas, concepts and innovative learning services with SHANGHAI FLANEUR as one of the key programs.
