Scholar, Philosopher

portrait_Zhejun YuDr. Yu Zhejun is a lecturer and scholar of philosophy at Fudan University. His research areas cover sociology of religion, Chinese religions, secularization and contemporary social theories. He read both his bachelor (2001) and master degree (2004) in philosophy with expertise in European phenomenology and philosophy of language. In 2010, he obtained his doctorate from the Institute of Religious Studies at University of Leipzig, Germany. His dissertation was about the relationship between civil society and popular religion in China during the Republican Time (1912-49). Shanghai-born Yu Zhejun is glad to (re)view this city both from insider and outsider perspectives.
