Micky Xu

PhD Candidate at CAUP, Tongji University, cultural heritage preservation

Micky XuXu Jing is a PhD Candidate at College of Architecture and Urban Planning, Tongji University. Her research covers conservation and regeneration of historical buildings, history of Shanghai urbanization and cultural zones, as well as tourism resource of Shanghai and surroundings.
She was born and raised in Shanghai, and studied in Germany in 2003 and 2004. As a part time guide, she organized and developed many city walks in various city areas. Recently she is involved in researches on historical and cultural sites and the key cultural heritage units in the Old Town, and her doctoral dissertation is on the history and development of Shanghai Old Town. She also worked part time as translator and assistant editor of various publications, including A+U (proof reading), Cecil Balmond (translator), Spanish Architecture (editor), etc.
